Lake Arrowhead is beautiful, from the lake itself to the mountains and valleys nearby, with tons of flora and fauna for the careful observer to take in.
This place is really a breath of fresh air, and PERFECT for walking and hiking to get in touch with the outdoors, or just for a fun, yet healthy, activity.
There are several walking trails in the area to check out for just this purpose.
Will Abell Memorial Trail at Arrowhead Ridge
Accessible from Grass Valley Road, Will Abell Memorial Trail at Arrowhead Ridge is a great trail.
The trail consists of a 2 mile loop with about 500 foot climb and several good viewing locations, especially if you go to the top of the ridge.
The Zen Deck
If you take a nice, easy stroll on the trail up to the Zen Deck, you’ll be rewarded with an excellent view.
If your phone can take panoramic photos, you’ll want to take one of the beautiful vista it overlooks.
It may be a little hard to find though, nestled in between Willow Creek Road and Geneva Lane.
Pinnacles Trail 3W16
Off of Highway 173 you’ll find Pinnacles Trail 3W16.
This hike is a little more challenging than the other two listed, and reviewers advise bringing water and a hat, as there is little shade.
However, the view from the top of the trail makes all the effort worth it in the end, and you get your exercise for the day in getting there.
The trail is 4.5 miles both ways and climbs 1,100 feet.
Lake Arrowhead – Green Valley Lake Recreation Area
For something right on the lake, check out Lake Arrowhead – Green Valley Lake Recreation Area.
With its abundant grouping of pine trees and other coniferous trees, this is a perfect place for a winter hike, as it’s beautiful when it snows.
Be warned though, there is no overnight camping, despite the area being mislabeled as a campground in a few places on the internet.
