Addiction Education

While addressing your addiction and undergoing treatment is part of the recovery journey, understanding your addiction is just as important. At Serenity Lodge, our staff provides our Clients with comprehensive addiction education. It’s important that our Clients understand addiction’s physical, emotional and psychological effects.

Drug And Alcohol Addiction Education

No matter your substance of choice, our aim is to help you understand the physical, emotional and psychological effects behind them. Once you understand the effects and recognize what triggers them, you’ll be able to develop new coping strategies.

Relapse Prevention

Inevitably, people, places and things evoke an urge to use during the recovery process. At Serenity Lodge, our experienced counselors—many of whom underwent their own recovery journeys—teach strategies to cope with those triggers. Understanding the motivation behind your addiction promotes progress.

Our Counselors Understand What You’re Going Through

While receiving your addiction education, keep in mind that the majority of our addiction counselors have been where you’ve been. They’ve experienced addiction’s ups and downs first hand. Therefore, they’re equipped to provide the right guidance to help you through the process.

Addiction Education Supplements Your Treatment

Addiction education is a small piece of your treatment process. Once you understand your addiction, we’re able to dig deeper into why your addiction exists in the first place. Individual and group counseling may lead to dual diagnosis, which means that you have an underlying mental health issue that needs to be addressed. Once you learn more about your addiction, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) will help you get to the bottom of your negative addictive behavior and focus your energy in a more positive direction.

Serenity Lodge provides Clients with a high-quality addiction education program on our beautiful, amenity-rich, 22-acre grounds. Ready to learn more about your addiction on the way to a substance-free life? Call Serenity Lodge today at (855) 932-4045.
