Confronting a substance addiction can be a terrifying endeavor. Many people struggle to recognize their addiction and fear having to face it alone. Luckily, drug addiction recovery is not something you have to handle on your own. Rehab for drug addiction exists to help a person get on the path to recovery and maintain a life of sobriety.
When Is It Time to Find Rehab for Drug Addiction?
The first step to recovery is recognizing the problem. Addiction is often hard for many people to recognize until it’s affecting other parts of their lives. Sometimes, an addiction forms out of self-medication for anxiety or stress. Other times, a prescription drug addiction can form from taking medicine for pain or an illness.
Across the board, there are a few recognizable signs of substance addiction. If you or someone you love is exhibiting any of these signs, it’s time to look into rehab for drug addiction:
- Craving the substance
- Difficulty with work or school because of substance use
- Spending a lot of time or money in order to acquire the substance
- Forgoing previously enjoyed activities in favor of substance use
- Experiencing withdrawal symptoms from not using the substance
- Strained or failing relationships with family and friends due to substance use
If you recognize any of these signs, then drug addiction is already adversely affecting your life. Before these effects become too severe, reach out to a trusted and accredited rehab for drug addiction that can help you start a healthier lifestyle.
Types of Rehab for Drug Addiction
Just as there are many types of people and addictions, there are many forms of rehab for drug addiction. There are varying levels of care to address all the unique needs clients may have and fit into all of their diverse lifestyles.
At Serenity Lodge, we offer three primary levels of treatment for men with substance addiction:
Residential Inpatient. This is the most elaborate and effective method to address substance addiction. Clients stay at our facility and receive round-the-clock supervision and care, preventing any chance of re-exposure to substances. Clients in this program also have access to our beautiful campus and vast amenities.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). PHP offers a more flexible schedule than residential inpatient; a middle-ground between residential and outpatient treatment. This program is perfect for men that struggle with severe addiction and mental health, but want more flexibility in their program.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Many men can’t or don’t want to check into a rehab facility. For many, that would mean putting their life on pause to seek treatment. An IOP offers the treatment a person needs to overcome substance addiction while still allowing them to live at home. An IOP can also be a great next step for someone who just completed an inpatient or PHP.
All forms of rehab for drug addiction have their pros and cons. The best way to find out what works for you is to identify what you need from a drug rehab facility and see which program meets your needs.
